Show & Tell

Every month we host our Show & Tell event in our studio. These events feature short presentations from speakers who share their work and knowledge with the public (we often pair the presenters with a second presenter to make it an interesting blend of disciplines and skills). Admission is free and the atmosphere is easy. On average 200 persons attend each event and there’s always a DJ and afterparty for those inclined. All Show & Tells are documented and pictures are posted on social media.
Presenters are generally from the creative industries, but we’re open to anyone with a bright idea and passion for what they do.
Past presenters have included:
Alex Smailes - photographer, Che Lovelace - painter, Stephen Gill - UK photographer, Duane Dove - Cocoa Farmer and chocolatier, John Stollmeyer - organic agronomist, Susie Dayal - sculptor, Marian Halbersma - papier mâché sculptor from Amsterdam, Alex Rodriguez - Animator from Cuba, Keshav Singh - electronica musician, Adam Williams - potter, Robert Young - fashion designer, Martin Parr - photographer from UK with Magnum agency, Bede Rajahram - beekeeper, Muhammad Muwakil - poet, Steven Bowen - cooper, Michael Deibert - Haiti based US journalist, Embah - artist, Laura Ferreria - photographer and graphic designer, Alan Davis - surfboard maker and business owner, Mark Lyndersay - photographer and techology journalist and Sharlene Chin - virtual fashion designer.
Show & Tell Special Edition-Martin Parr:
Martin Parr, one of the world’s most renowned photographers, presented his work at a special edition of Show & Tell in January 2010. Despite not being well known in Trinidad, our mail-outs and guerilla marketing attracted over 350 persons who wanted to hear Martin speak about his work at the event. Aside from our regular crowd, the event attracted diplomats, aspiring photographers and television media - this made for a killer afterparty!
